I love this thing. In my opinion, its well worth the money. It does the same thing all those overpriced $8,000 Snap On units do, for 1/3th of the price. Snap on can’t write the info reading software for the cars, they must rely on the manufacturer to tell them everything. So in that way, they’re no different. And look it up, that’s the only real way that matters. Anything else is just fluff and puff you don’t need. Buy this thing, instead of getting ripped off. Now there is something that I think the company should be more clear about. This WILL NOT WORK until you do 2 things. You must email them your serial number. Its useless until you do that. Apparently they’ve had a lot of knock offs, so they’re protecting their IP by having you email them before you can actually download the necessary software for it. That confused me initially, as it wasn’t mentioned in the paperwork. At least nowhere that I could see.
They have to activate the unit from their end, and its useless except for just OBD2 scanning until they do. You won’t be able to download the real software, that lets you scan every system in the car and tells you exactly what is wrong. Not until they activate it. So you have to get in contact with them. They do give you an email address, and you just send them your serial number and ask them to activate the unit so you can download the software. The second thing is, you have to “pair” the wireless OBD2 connector to this. Somewhere on one of the diagnostic screens, up in the corner or something, it will ask you for the number that is on the wireless OBD2 connector. You have to put that in and essentially pair them, before this can work. That way if you ever lose the wireless connector, you can just buy another one for cheap and pair that one. Once they’re paired, you don’t have to do it again. But you won’t be using it until you do it. Other than those two minor things, its great. You can take control of systems, and have them tell you exactly what is wrong with them. ABS light? It told me my front right sensor was having a problem. Another ABS light on my f150, the ABS pump was dying. Its awesome to just be able to know what is wrong with what you’re working on. This will scan the ABS system, the Body Control Module, the Engine Control Module, the Transmission Control module, the Airbag system, and the others I forgot to mention. It does them all. Would buy again.

I was in search for a OE level scan tool for my father who has an automotive shop is Knox City. I did several research and found many scan tools out their with OE level diagnostic capabilities but I needed something that not only would work with vehicles sold in the Australia but also vehicles from North America since they do offer different models. I found that all scanners/computers had the capabilities of reading DTC, scan, graph but the Launch x431 had a much broader coverage of not only the basic capability’s and over 50 vehicle makes and models but also has transmissions, ABS, SRS, Body control module, Suspension, infotainment, TPMS, key programming and much more all in one tool.
I was able to send the scanner to my father’s shop and the seller offered great customer service, he assisted us thru the product registration and program installations.
the end result was great, the scanner worked flawlessly and was put up to the test with vehicles from Japan and US, it connected with various makes and models, so far ever thing we throw at it, communicates with.
One more comment, the scanner has a 10 inch display and connects via Bluetooth which makes connectivity much more easier and clean, no more cables hanging or keys to insert, the battery life is great and you even get all the other amenities that android offers. it has a front and rear facing camera and the case is made up of a combination of plastic and rubber to protect it from drops. Inside the box comes all the connections and adapters needed for OBD2 and OBD1.
One more, this buy came with free two year updates which leaves us with a total of three year vehicle coverage which is hard to find.
I would definitely recommend this scanner to all of you who want an OE level device and even for the professionals.
I come from a family of mechanics I personally have had the experience to work with snap on scanners, OTC and even HD laptop software’s and they all work great but with the Launch X431 you have it all in one package.
Great buy and great seller. I will be updating as we continue to explore the capability of the X431.

We asked many questions on line to other customers and to leoglobal, and all questions were answered.I am a foreman at a Diesel repair shop in Campbellfield. We work on everything , we do have many programs to read and diagnose diesel and pick ups that have issues, more systems with DPF systems. We can use some programs on laptop but not all.I have a Vursue Snap on reader, and Mitchell Program. it help but really a waste of money due to the trial time is short and then you have to pay for the program. Was not really worth the money or time. We work on Mits fuso, fm 260 and others , Ud, Cummins, Detroit,Renult, Mack, duramaxx, Maxxforce, Dt 466,dt 9, 10, Ford,,, I can read codes, do more functions, injector test,With this I can SEE DPF TEMPS, SOOT, EGR. I guess to me, worth the money we spent and did our research ,this day and age I make more money with the regen issues that trucks have today. Thats what I see more. NOW I CAN SEE MITS FUSO, UD, FORD medium truck, now I can see the problem is and fix it and show the customer whats going on with their engine, while there in waiting room with the Launch pad. Print and let them see the report.I have had calls from tech support to help me load the HD part , which took a few days due to weekend. Now I have other shops call me so I can go use the launch pad om there trucks they cant read . We were surprised at work with this scanner and I AM VERY PLEASED . Now the other guys want to use mine , which IS MINE ! If you want a really good scanner which you can update, and they will help , BUY this one! Or buy a Snap on and piss your money away, Or spend the money for a laptop which we have that will not read MITS,
I only ask is if they can load PACCAR, which is not on here.
